This update brings three major improvements designed to make your Kreo experience more powerful and flexible:
- Map View / Snapshot — upload and interact with maps as part of your project.
- Item Builder — create custom items directly inside your project and save them to a shared database.
- Include Walls (Beta) — new toggle to control whether wall areas are counted in Rooms and Areas mode.
Map View and Snapshot — Maps, But Smarter
Now you can use map imagery directly within your Kreo project interface:
- Upload Maps: Use the Upload Map View button to import map images (e.g., from OpenStreetMap). Kreo automatically detects the correct scale — no manual calibration needed.
- Create Snapshots: Use Create a Snapshot to save the current map view as a separate project page — useful for versioning, archiving, or locking a specific geolocation.
- Maps as Drawings: Once uploaded, a map becomes a fully functional project page:
- supports measurements
- appears in the Plans list alongside PDFs
- supports export and comparison
New Item Builder — Create Custom Properties in Projects
Kreo now lets you create custom items directly inside your project and use them in calculations. You can save them either locally or in the shared database for reuse across other measurements.
How it works:
- Select a measurement or a group of measurements.
- Click Create from scratch or choose from the library.
- Pick your first property type:
- Formula;
- Number;
- Text;
- Single Select;
- Breakdown;
- Configure the property:
- Enter formulas or fixed values
- Set unit of measurement
- All changes save automatically
- Reuse freely:
- Apply saved properties to any other measurements
- Store them in the shared item database
Include Walls (Beta) — New Control for Area Calculations
A new Include Walls toggle is now available in Rooms and Areas mode:
- Enabled — area includes wall thickness.
- Disabled — walls are excluded from area calculations.
This feature is currently in Beta, so feel free to test and send feedback (or silently judge us, your call).
Stability and UI Improvements
We’ve done a good round of bug fixing and smoothing over:
- Fixed crashes and freezes caused by edge cases in drawing analysis or Auto Measure.
- UI now behaves more predictably — fewer spinners, less lag, more peace of mind.
- Visual glitches in buttons, filters, and tables have been ironed out.
The goal: fewer frustrations, smoother workdays, and fewer threats to throw your laptop.
